Qualify Now for World Cup of Poker VII

The PokerStars World Cup of Poker (WCP) is back, and this year we’re bringing together 56 nations from around the world for the ultimate poker battle. There’s a $290,000 prize pool on the line, but only one country can claim the glory, national pride and the $100,000 first place prize money at the live Grand Final in The Bahamas. Poker doesn’t get any bigger than this, so make sure you are there.

Represent your Nation at the World Cup of Poker!

This year the WCP will run differently from before, giving ALL players a shot at making it onto their national team. Here’s how it works:

STAGE I - Qualify for your National Team

It doesn’t matter where you are from, every PokerStars player has the chance to qualify for the live Grand Final. To be in the running, you must first qualify for a place in your country’s four-player team. See the WCP - Qualify page to find out how it works and how you can become a member of your national team.

STAGE II - Divisional Finals

Once you’ve secured a place on your national team, Stage II will see players compete against teams from neighboring countries in order to secure a place in Stage III - the live Grand Final! See the WCP - Divisional Finals page to find out how your team can reach the Grand Final.

Stage III - Live Grand Final

The Live Grand Final of WCP VII will be held as part of the Pokerstars Caribbean Adventure (PCA), taking place January 9-16, 2011. Members of the teams that make it to the World Cup of Poker Grand Final will receive a prize package that includes travel and accommodation at the Atlantis Resort and Casino in The Bahamas. Once there, each team member will compete in a single table tournament to determine their team’s starting chip stack for the World Cup of Poker Final Table.

The live Final Table will be a ‘Tag Team’ event, where all team members will rotate in and out of play until one team takes overall victory. They will get to claim the national glory, $100,000 and the title of World Cup of Poker VII Champions! Visit the WCP - Live Final page to find out more.

Play the $100,000 World Cup of Poker Freeroll

To finish things off in style, all players that played in the $1 and 1 FPP qualifier tournaments for the new World Cup of Poker VII champions are invited to play a $100,000 Freeroll! This tournament takes place after the conclusion of the Live Final on Sunday, January 30, 2011, and is a great way to celebrate your country’s World Cup win.

The start time for this World Cup winner’s tournament will be tailored to suit the country that wins the title, so keep checking back for more details.

World Cup of Poker VI

Last year, Chinese Taipei - comprising of Tseng Wei Ming, Tsu-Chi Wang, Lai Wan Shyun, Wen-Aho Pan and captained by PokerStars player Raymond Wu - were crowned World Cup of Poker Champions. They beat eight other teams from around the world during 16 hours of live poker, all played out in the stunning surroundings of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) at Atlantis in The Bahamas. They took home the $100,000 first place prize money, which equates to $20,000 per player, plus trophies and the all-important title of World Cup of Poker VI Champions.

Roll of Honor

Entropay Transactions

Well it all went smoothly.
Deposited $20 on both pokerstars and fulltilt, and the funds appeared immediately on my account within seconds. I waited and played hands for a couple of days then tried to withdraw some on my full tilt. But it took almost 7 days before it was finally credited back to my entropay card. That is the problem, Fast Deposit but very slow Withdrawal process. Im working right now on my party account to see if i can withdraw my $100 while only depositing the min $25. But currently im still waiting for my pokerstrategy funds to be transfered before i can make my withdrawal.

Entropay

I finally had the chance to apply for an entropay card and used my BDO Mastercard to fund it. took me only a couple of minutes before I can load my online wallet with $50 initial deposit. That cost me around P2350 on my mastercard but this will be my working money to load and deposit my online poker transactions. If all goes well, thru this card I will be able to withdraw and deposit or even transfer funds between different clients. A very good way to manipulate/rotate my online money and also to receive bonus by depositing. I will update more about this if made some successful transactions soon.

Satellites for Pokerstars WCOOP events

PokerStars has announced a satellites program for the WCOOP events as the buy-ins are extremely high; the leading online poker room of the world is therefore giving the opportunity for many poker players to participate to the events without spending much money. The “Extreme Satellites”, as they called, will last eight days – until 29 August. The smallest buy-in is just $5.50 while the most expensive reaching up to $260. $9 win RakeTheRake $750 Freeroll

Two freerolls ran today from rtr, a $30,000 and a $750 freeroll. Too bad i was only able to cash on the smaller one placing 12th. i could have pushed this to the final table if i did not sitout at 6:45am... this is my usual time where i need to take my mother for a ride at work. when i was out a lot of good hands were folded when i checked.. JJ, 88, ak's and most of them are on position. but no worries... as long as there is cash its all good.

Rakeback from RakeTheRake

This is the biggest rakeback I got from RakeTheRake as of now. Aside from my winnings on cash games, I also get free money weekly grinding. Hoping to play more this month! Thank to this rake i will never lose $$ again.... unless i tilted. :D

Rush Poker Stats

After a big swing last Nov on full tilt losing $80+ on my $120 BR, i finally able to recover from that big loss after 5 months. with the introduction of rush poker, i was able to improved my strategy on how to play the game. it was on late March that i started to grind again with my $30 BR on 5nl rush. it was down and up at first but when i finally realized where my flaws came from i started to win big and lose small $$. And not only that i am winning money from cash games, i am also receiving rakebacks from RakeTheRake which is really a big help for me, and they are also giving me chances to participate in their monthly $30K freeroll tournament for playing(which i am also cashing as well).

The $80 that i lost which was built up from 1.5 years of playing poker on full tilt. i was able to win more than that i just 1 month playing in rush poker together with the bonuses. I hope this run won't last.

Currently playing on 10nl this time, and hope everything turns well....

Full Tilt Store Items Bought

After more than a year of playing in full tilt, i finally made enough ft points to buy some items on their store. Playing cash game does make a good way of earning points and in addition to that if you also participate in their FTP Academy more points can be earned as well. Though some items are not avail in FTPA store, i traded my points acquired in the academy with actual ftp points and bought these items for the cashier store. It took a couple of emails since some items are can not be shipped to the Philippines. And after week May 13 '10, they finally deducted the points in my account. I'm really excited to get my hands on these stuffs. But i still have to wait 4-6 weeks before they arrive.

3rd Again in Full Tilt

After missing about 3 or 4 games from this league, i was able squeeze in some FT$$ this morning by placing 3rd on our little league. aside from the winnings, additional points have been added as well to our team but isn't enough to place us on the bubble position. 1 more game for full tilt and and the season is finished. most probably our team will finish in 4th place... but we're still not sure maybe some luck will come and we could end up in the 3rd. we'll find out next week....

3rd 4KingPoker

After selling my FT $$, i was already down to about $11 and have to work my way back again.
i tried to grind it out on rush poker which is really a dumb thing to do and lost $4. good thing is i received my rake back from raketherake for about $11.45 and and double up my br to about $20. i tried to control myself not to play rush poker until i have enough BR for that game. then i played my usual team tourney on 4kingpoker.com(which is my fav poker forum online), where team rankings and individual rankings win additional $$ aside from the tourney price pool for each game. this is where i boosted my BR before because no donkies and bingo players are in these games. You are up against really good players which rewards you friends and poker strategies as well aside from the $$ (ok stop the promotion.. ;-)!) so on with the game, i played one of our weekly FT tourneys and managed to place 3rd place which gave me an additional $8.71 on my BR.. now i have enough again to join those $1.20 45man sng's. hope to get more out of these coz' i setting a target of $1000 win before June arrives... wish me luck again!!!

WBCOOP Ticket Win

After playing 6 WBCOOP tourneys, i was only able to manage a single ticket on a NLHE tourney. Too bad lots of tickets are being given away if you just make it to top 153 no matter how many entries there are. and the tournaments are just averaging of about 1800 players per game and about 20% of it i think are sitting out. I only saw a couple of pinoys based here in the Philippines are playing as well but are sitting out as well most of the games due to conflict on their scheds i guess. the biggest winner among us was Gumasta who got a $215 scoop ticket. he is one of the most notable players online(for me i think...) another buddy of mine Swerte_nmn who is also a pinoy but based on chicago won also an $11 on the same tourney as mine. we never managed to hooked another after that win. another winner was hal888 for about $24 if i remember it right.

well, let's see on the coming scoop this summer if we can turn this ticket into some real money... better wish us good luck! will surely update if anything happened big time. :)

Went Deep on a $1 Pokerstars Tourney

Almost made it to the final table... :-( won only $22.57
this is the deepest position i got since i played this $1 tourney on Pokerstars. i thought i would make it to the final table, but i was card dead when there were about 22 players left. i could not make any move and i had to bluff on position to steal some blinds only to be shoved by the chip leader who has 9x the chip size as mine... i folded of course with one player to go on the next hand. i was already short stacked and in 12th position... i was in BB and had 30k chips left with 10k/20k blinds 2k ante. chip leader shoved his 1.9M... i called with QTo.... that doubled me up hitting a pair of 10 on the flop. next hand im in SB and BB was BB. everbody folded to me where i got 44... i instantly shoved hoping for a steal or another miracle. BB called with JTo... flop is 96k... good flop me! yehey! the turn come with 5... phew!!! that was a really intense one....... then out comes the river..............J. my dream all flushed out!!!!!!!!!!

better luck again next time!!!!!!!!
